The Sower Has Sown Part 4 of 5, Christ Is Your Solid Root!

“The seeds that fell on rocky ground are the people who gladly hear the message and accept it. But they don’t have deep roots, and they believe only for a little while. As soon as life gets hard, they give up. The seeds that fell among the thornbushes are also people who hear the message. But they are so eager for riches and pleasures that they never produce anything.”

Memory Verse: “Don’t be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.” Romans 12:2.

A few weeks ago, there was a conversation about why people don’t accept the word of God. But a more solid question is, “why is it very difficult to sustain a relationship with God”?

One of the most common answers is that “Because we cannot see God”!

While that seem like a perfect answer, what are the chances that if we see God face-to-face, we will relate with Him and build a solid relationship with Him?

Jesus knew the heart of man and that’s why 1John 4:20 says, “But if we say we love God and don’t love each other, we are liars. We cannot see God. So how can we love God, if we don’t love the people we can see?”

Relationship with God physically is not a guarantee of a solid relationship spiritually. Yes, read that again, physical presence does not determine the strength of a relationship but what determines the strength is the foundation on which it was built and the intentional decisions that we make daily to keep the relationship going.

The Sower sows a seed, and we accept it emotionally. There is a suitable atmosphere like a church that makes people break down in worship to God. Worshipping in Church hits the emotions but once some worshippers are out of that environment, life gets real, and they respond emotionally to life forgetting what was planted in them few hours ago through worship.

We worship God emotionally not spiritually, so we go back into the world and get carried away with everything that’s in the world because our lives are not deeply rooted in Christ.

It doesn’t matter how many activities and events we attend, without a life that is deeply rooted in Christ, we may never produce fruit.

Show me a life that is solid and fruitful, and I’ll show you a life that is deeply rooted in Christ.

PRAYERS:

  • Father, you are too faithful, and you never fail or disappoint you own.
  • Thank you for your love, unconditional.
  • Thank you for being my maker and for wanting to be a part of me.
  • Forgive my sins Lord and create in me a clean heart.
  • Father help me to be deeply rooted in you, not to be emotional but spiritually attached.
  • Take my heart Lord and let it be consecrated to you.
  • Let my life be an expression of your grace Lord.
  • Make me a hearer, likewise a doer of your word.
  • Thank you, Lord, in Jesus’ name I Pray, Amen.
