Find Rest in God!

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honour depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.

Memory Verse: Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8

Rest is totally amazing and the sound of it alone gives complete peace of mind because let’s be honest life is busy full of unending activities of which the list keeps growing every day. The truth is this busy life can get in the way of our spiritual life therefore affecting not only the quality of time we spend with God but ultimately denting our relationship with Him.

Think about what it would feel like if you don’t have to keep living your life as if something is chasing you and you just freely walk and rest in what God has already created; Psalm 24:1 says The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. why then are we chasing the wind? why do we fail to rest?

There can be no real rest outside of Jesus. This is because the devil knows that as human beings we are moved by various things happening around us.

The devil studies us and knows when we have issues and other material challenges we are petitioning God for, the devil then uses that as an access point to pierce through into us by magnifying the issues even more, making it look bigger than God Himself. From here, doubts and worries begin to heighten and we realise we live in fear and unrest instead of the rest Christ consistently promises us according to Hebrews 4:10-11

Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-40 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

We need to trust God completely; His word is new every day. His invitation to enter into His rest is still valid today and we can enter into that eternal rest by faith.
