Why wouldn’t the enemy just let go?

“But King Sihon of Heshbon refused to allow us to pass through, because the Lord your God made Sihon stubborn and defiant so he could help you defeat him, as he has now done. Then the Lord said to me, ‘Look, I have begun to hand King Sihon and his land over to you. Begin now to conquer and occupy his land.’  Read Deuteronomy 2:30-35

Memory verse: And we know that God causes everything to work together[a] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans8:28

Have you ever spent time wondering why you even have enemies? like why can’t the world just be peaceful with everyone living in harmony, loving each other just like God commanded us to? The list of question is endless but will that not mean you may not even know God at all since you refuse to live in harmony? After all the biggest commandment is love.

If you speak to Christians round the world, most people gave their lives to Christ at a point in their life where life just didn’t seem fair and things are not working as it should. It just so happens that when all hope is lost and battles have been fought without success then we invite God to help us fight a battle because we clearly can’t fight on our own. This was the exact case with the Israelites, they were uncomfortable and treated badly in Egypt so they kept calling to God until He heard and sent them Moses to deliver them from the Egyptians and take them to the promise land.

It may not be interesting to hear but the enemy is directed by the devil to make life miserable and if God permits it, then best believe it that if you are a child of God, it’s still working together for your own good. I bet you’re thinking no way, that’s impossible but this is like too much and the list of comments is endless but all through the bible we see that every battle the Lord permits is for a reason.

God at times uses the enemy to teach us a lesson or two and other times He uses them to push us from point A to B. He likewise uses them for various reasons unknown to us just like we see in the scriptures where He hardened pharaoh’s heart Exodus 9:12, He changes Saul’s heart when He wanted too 1Samuel 10:9 and we see in today’s bible verse that He made Sihon stubborn so He could win victory for the Israelites.

The enemy wouldn’t be fighting you so hard if you were already in the camp of the devil. Satan fights you so hard because he is doing everything to make you leave the Lord’s camp for his own camp. We see this in the life of job and how the devil targeted him to sin against God and should God had permitted, the devil would have attempted to take jobs life Job 2:6 because the devil is that desperate.

If you are definitely walking with the Lord and the enemy is fighting you, it’s because you are a threat to the enemy and there is greatness in you. For this reason, you a constant target as the enemy will do everything possible to frustrate you. But do not be discouraged even when going through the challenges of life, keep praying and see it as God permitted it for a reason so focus on God.

Yes, that’s right even when the enemy is not letting go, just continue to focus on God, stay encouraged, the enemy is fighting you so hard because there is a greatness inside of you and if you stay connected to God, you will laugh the last and manifest in that greatness God has put in you.
