Lessons from Daniel Chapter 6 Part 2 Topic: What Your Enemies Have In Common!

So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him. Then these men said, “We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”

So these governors and satraps thronged before the king, and said thus to him: “King Darius, live forever!

Memory Verse: The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray. Proverbs 12:26

Do you know who your true friends are and if you were to see an enemy, do they really look obvious as enemies? Some can obviously say they know their true friends until such people find themselves in situations where they are seen as threats to every other person.

The transition from friend to enemy status is so quick that before you get you head around it enemies and friends have all formed one big alliance just with one purpose – To bring you down. Funny, isn’t it ? That a friend who really had the same enemy as you can quickly become best friends with your enemy.

If you haven’t seen this happen, you are living in one perfect world, but I have seen enemies become best friend simply because they have a common goal – To bring another person down and at that period in time, it can seem very lonely for the individual target who is at the receiving end, and this was exactly Daniel’s story.

How could two administrator and one hundred and twenty staffs gang up against just Daniel? They had no real reason, but they saw him as a threat due to the special grace of God on Him. They ganged up and decided it was best to eliminate him. Daniel was an upright man, and they simply could not find  any fault in him. He was faultless and faithful to God so even though the enemies continued to roar, Daniel remained unshaken because He knew His God and the Power He carried.

Many times, we assume we are wrong because we are standing alone but that’s not always the case. Often if you are led by God, then be rest assured that it’s impossible to be wrongly aligned even if the enemies keep increasing by the day. Keep your focus on God, remain faithful and committed to doing what God has called you to do. Don’t not be tempted to change direction to earn friendship because even if you do, those friends will continue to find something until they bring you down.

Do not be tempted to join the multitude to do evil, Exodus 23:2, if you have to stand alone then stand alone on Christ the solid rock.
